Deborah has been making and decorating
cakes for many years-trying out new ideas and techniques
on
special occasion cakes for friends and family, but it
wasn't until Kimberly took a three-month cake
decorating course, that things really took off.
Their first large wedding cake was "Michelle's
Cake" in 1999, which served 250 people, followed by
"Joanna's Cake" in 2000, also serving 250. (Please
see our wedding cake gallery). Deborah's focus has
always been on flavor and texture, while Kim's has been,
(of course), style and beauty. This has resulted in some
very "interesting" tug-of-wars, but the result has been
the creation of a moist flavorful cake that is a
pleasure to look at and a joy to eat.
Through their affiliation with C.A.A.
(Confectionary Artists of Arkansas) and I.C.E.S.
(International Cake Exploration Society) Kimberly and
Deborah have attended many classes by such Sugar World
Greats as Earlene Moore, Colette Peters, Kerry Vincent
and Rose Watson, thus they continue to perfect their
art.
